Entrepreneurs Set For B-Start Pitch Competition

The Bloomington Economic Development Corp.’s pre-accelerator program will Tuesday hold its annual pitch competition. The B-Start Demo Day event serves as the culmination of a 22-week program designed to launch for-profit, innovation-driven businesses in Bloomington.
This year’s Demo Day will feature nine startups giving five-minute pitches in an effort to win up to $3,000 in funding. This year’s B-Start cohort was open to all Bloomington residents, instead of just students from Indiana University and Ivy Tech Community College.
The B-Start program provides business development workshops for startups as well as mentorship and consultation from local experts. Zachary Burr won last year’s B-Start Demo Day pitch competition for his on-demand laundry service startup, Tydee.
