HWC Engineering says the relocation will contribute to the revitalization of the building, which was recently sold for $40 million.
HWC says it has begun construction on the 16,000 square-foot space, which will be double the size of the company’s current location. The company plans to move into the space in late June.
"Since moving our headquarters to Indianapolis in 1997 we have enjoyed the friendly business environment the city offers," said Ed Jolliffe, president of HWC. "As HWC continues to expand across Indiana, it’s important for us to maintain our roots in vibrant downtown Indianapolis."
The company has locations throughout the state, including Terre Haute, Lafayette, Scottsburg and Muncie. It will open a regional office in New Albany this spring with plans to add 25 high-wage jobs by 2018.
