Employment Screening Company Acquires Indy Firm

Barada Associates in Rushville has acquired Indianapolis-based background screening services firm American Business Services. Financial terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

Will Barada, president of Barada Associates says the acquisition is a great move for both companies. He says it not only allows the company to expand its footprint, but it also gives ABS clients access to a broader range of products and services.

"In the background screening industry, thoroughness and accuracy are absolutely vital," Barada said in a news release. "ABS Screening’s reputation for high-quality research was a key factor in our decision to move forward with the acquisition. It perfectly complements our own meticulous approach to background screening."

ABS founder Steve Neal says there will be virtually no disruption for ABS clients as they transition to the new firm. Barada says Debbie Darko, who previously served as head of customer service for ABS, will join the Barada team to ensure service consistency for ABS clients during the transition.

Barada did not specify if any other jobs would be affected by the acquisition.

Barada Associates was founded in 1979 and provides a variety of employment screening services to companies throughout the U.S. The company’s corporate headquarters are located in Rushville and in 2016, it opened a new office in downtown Indianapolis.
