News Release

Indianapolis, Ind. — EmployIndy, Marion County's Workforce Investment Board, has teamed with Lowe's to fill positions for their new Customer Support Center. This unique partnership will see candidate screening, hiring and training taking place in one location, WorkOne Indy – North. This marks the first time EmployIndy has teamed with a third-party employer to conduct all employment activities in one location.

Earlier this year, Lowe's announced the building of a Customer Support Center at Intech Park resulting in one thousand new jobs being created. To fill these positions, Lowe's recruiters are currently on-site at the WorkOne Indy – North offices, located at 9002 Purdue Road, where interested candidates should visit during regular business hours to apply. All candidates will also be enrolled in the WorkOne Indy network and become eligible for available job-seeking services such as career exploration, resume development, soft-skills and additional training should they be interested. These services are available to all Marion County residents free of charge.

“We are excited to be teaming with Lowe's to offer the residents of Marion County a job opportunity with growth potential,” said Brooke Huntington, EmployIndy's president and CEO. “WorkOne Indy provides access to resources such as training and placement services to Marion County residents free of charge. However the ability to screen, hire and train in one location is a new approach for us; one that demonstrates the strategic partnership opportunities and resources EmployIndy and WorkOne Indy have available to both job seekers and employers in our area.”

The WorkOne Indy offices are open Monday through Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm and Thursday from 10:00am to 4:30pm. The new 140,000 square-foot Lowe's Customer Support Center will be operational in the first quarter of 2015 and will employ 1,000 local employees by 2016.
