Employees Take Ownership of Fort Wayne Firm

Fort Wayne-based SES Environmental has transitioned to an employee-owned company. Multiple Indiana businesses, including Frakes Engineering in Indianapolis and South Bend-based Midwest Orthotic Services and Surestep, have taken the same steps within the last two months.
SES was founded in the late-1980s and has six offices throughout the country. It has 36 employees.
President Dave Nystuen says "this transition to employee ownership goes beyond just providing a retirement plan. The core of our success has been the dedication and hard work of each and every employee, and their commitment to our clients. In recognition of these efforts, we are rewarding our employees with full beneficial ownership of the company."
The environmental, health and safety compliance firm has transitioned ownership through an Employee Stock Ownership Plan. SES Environmental has completed projects in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Hungary and Austria and has regional locations in Indianapolis, Louisville, Michigan and Nevada.
