INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann has been named Midwest Regional Chair of the National Lt. Governors Association (NLGA) and will serve on the Executive Committee of the organization. She previously held the position of Midwest Republican at Large.
In accepting her selection Lt. Governor Ellspermann commented, “The NLGA has provided an excellent opportunity for Lt. Governors to learn best practices and discuss issues that impact all states and territories. Although we represent diverse ideologies, priorities, and circumstances, we all benefit from the interaction with our peer “second-in-commands” across the nation. As a member of the Executive Committee, I look forward to increasing the value of NLGA to both new and veteran LG’s throughout the country.”
Lt. Governor also noted that Indianapolis will host the NLGA annual conference in July 2015. As the largest event for the NLGA, most of the nation’s fifty lieutenant governors attend the three-day conference. The agenda will include panel discussions and speakers about life sciences and agriculture, energy, education, homeland security, and other timely topics. The local organizing committee is also planning a reception at the Governor’s Residence and visits to the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the Indiana State Museum.
