Elkhart-based Dexter Axle Co. has acquired Redneck Inc. and Redline Products LLC, a supplier of trailer axles and components headquartered in Missouri. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Redneck, which distributes stocked trailer parts and accessories to manufacturer, dealer, and retail customers, operates 20 locations in 17 states and employs nearly 400 people.

“Adding Redneck under Dexter’s umbrella demonstrates our long-standing commitment to servicing our customers to the highest level,” said Fred Bentley, chief executive officer of DexKo Global in Michigan, Dexter’s parent company. “This partnership will further our ability to provide quality products to manufacturers, distributors, dealers, and service centers.”

Dexter says the acquisition offers opportunities to improve service with a larger geographical footprint and provides better coverage for customers with a diverse product line.

“Redneck has long supported the Dexter brand, and this acquisition provides an additional platform to offer our products to their customers,” said Adam Dexter, president of Dexter Axle. “Bringing these two companies together will allow us to concentrate on operational excellence by partnering with our current and new employees, suppliers and customers. Our companies’ core foundations of providing outstanding customer service align exceptionally well.”
