The event marks the first time Elkhart has hosted a national championship.
The tournament, which takes place August 26-28, comes as Riverview Park Softball Complex celebrates its 50th birthday. Twenty teams are expected to participate in the event, which will bring in an estimated $55,000 to the local economy.
"The city of Elkhart is proud to host this tournament, which will attract teams from throughout the state of Indiana and across the eastern portion of the United States," said Elkhart Mayor Tim Neese. "The city is hard at work preparing Riverview Park to ensure it is a place where visiting teams can be proud to play and spectators can be comfortable and proud to watch. I ask Elkhart residents to join me in welcoming this special event to our city and hope to see them back year after year."
The city says eight teams have already signed up for the tournament with four more verbally committing to participate. You can find more information about the event by clicking here.
