The county says the brand, Well Crafted, will “serve as a compelling and flexible platform for all organizations and residents of Elkhart County to express the pride they have for this area.”
The destination brand, according to officials, will help connect Elkhart County’s manufacturing heritage with its present-day status as an “innovative and collaborative center.” Vibrant Communities Co-Chair Arvis Dawson says the brand is the culmination of years of work.
“The process to get where we are today was a disciplined one. It involved research, and consultation with citizens throughout Elkhart County,” Dawson said.
“We compared ourselves to other regions around the country and worked hard to figure out two things: What makes Elkhart County different. And what makes us different in a way that matters to outsiders – people who will want to come here and experience the things we have to offer – particularly because they can’t get that experience anywhere else.”
The Elkhart County Convention & Visitors Bureau will manage the assets associated with the brand and provide tools and messaging to help businesses and organizations throughout the county utilize the assets.
The destination brand identity was unveiled Wednesday during The Big Event at the Lerner Theatre in Elkhart. The Vibrant Communities organization also officially unveiled “The Coolest Thing Made in Elkhart County” campaign.
