Elkhart County Nonprofits Net $1.4M in Grants

Subscribe NowThe Community Foundation of Elkhart County Board of Directors has approved nearly $1.4 million in grants to nonprofits throughout the county. The grants are meant to address youth development, vibrant community or quality of life issues, among others.
The foundation awarded $1.33 million in Community Investment Grants, $54,000 in Good Neighbor Grants, and a $1,000 Rapid Response Grant, which aims to help an organization deal with "sudden, unanticipated and unavoidable challenges."
"In this Community Investment Grant cycle, we saw a significant increase in youth-oriented grant requests," says Jill Sigsbee, Community Foundation grant chairperson. "We continue to see a good balance of funding opportunities in our three priority areas."

Community Investment Grants:
- Bashor Children’s Home: $60,000
- Child And Parent Services: $250,000
- Clinton Christian School: $65,000
- Elkhart Community Schools: $25,000
- ETHOS: $250,000
- Horizon Education Alliance: $200,000
- Indiana Golf Foundation: $31,000
- Bristol Parks Department: $25,000
- Elkhart County Convention and Visitors Bureau: $270,000 over three years
- Elkhart County Parks Department: $100,000
- The Goshen Theater: $50,000
- Community Action of Northeast Indiana: $17,500
- Elkhart County Clubhouse: $83,000
- Samaritan Center: $80,000

- City of Goshen: $5,000
- Elkhart Festivals: $6,000
- Emerge Ministries Community Development Corp.: $10,000
- Girls on the Run Michiana: $6,500
- LaCasa of Goshen: $11,500
- Salvation Army of Elkhart: $5,000
- Wellfield Botanic Gardens: $10,000
Rapid Response Grant:
- Christ’s Commissary: $1,000
