Elkhart Coach is planning to move into a new location in the city later this year to meet increasing demand.
The move would allow Elkhart Coach to increase production capacity to more than 2,500 units annually. The company did not release information on how large the new facility will be or many jobs would be created as a result of the expansion.
"Our dealers have told us that they need more product and that we need to get it into their hands faster," said Tony Cundiff, general manager of Elkhart Coach. "Based on these facts alone, this move makes all the sense in the world."
Elkhart Coach manufactures shuttle buses that can seat 15-25 passengers. The company says, in addition to increasing overall volume, the expansion will reduce the amount of time dealers have to wait for delivery.
"We are very excited about this upcoming move," said David Wright with Forest River. "Tony and his team have done an excellent job building one of the highest quality buses in the industry. They look forward to having the opportunity to better serve our dealers."
