Elkhart-based Assembly Masters acquired by Michigan company

Elkhart-based Assembly Masters Inc., a manufacturer of custom cable assemblies, wire harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies, has been acquired by Bay Motor Products in Traverse City, Michigan.
Financial terms of the acquisition are not being disclosed.
The sale comes as Assembly Masters co-owners Deb Walters and Joe Gennicks are approaching retirement, the company said in a news release.
Walters said she and Gennicks believe Bay Motor Products will allow their company to thrive under new leadership.
“After over two decades of building Assembly Masters, Joe and I knew it was time to transition the business to new ownership,” Walters said. “Finding a buyer who values our employees and the culture we’ve cultivated was essential. We believe Bay Motor Products is the right fit to carry our legacy forward.”
Assembly Masters employs 11 people in Elkhart.
Bay Motor Products is a manufacturer of electric motors and blowers for various industries, including HVAC, food equipment and industrial applications. President Andy Robitshek said the acquisition aligns perfectly with the company’s long-term strategic vision.
“Their expertise in cable assemblies and wire harnesses complements our existing capabilities, allowing us to offer even more integrated solutions to our customers,” Robitshek said in the release. “We are excited to welcome their talented team into our organization.”
The acquisition was facilitated by Michigan-based Calder Capital.
