SSCU was chartered in 1944 and provides services for state employees.
Elements Financial, which is formerly known as Eli Lilly Federal Credit Union, says the combination will involve 1,200 existing State Service members.
Chief Executive Officer Lisa Schlehuber says "this growth allows Elements to provide the outstanding value we’re known for to a brand-new population. Expansion also leads to investments in new products and services, continued competitive pricing, and development of our digital services." The state’s 30,000 employees are now eligible to join Elements Financial.
Elements financial has been in business since 1930 and currently partners with over 70 companies and 70,000 members, reporting assets of more than $1 billion.
The transition is already under way for the institutions and the merger is slated to be complete December 5.
