Lewellyn says the growth is being sparked by rising demand throughout the country for workplace safety training and services. The company plans to begin renovations early next year, with plans for the new space to be up and running by next summer. The expanded headquarters will include a new training center for employees and clients.
The Zionsville company currently has more than 20 employees in Indiana, and more than 50 throughout the United States. It says new openings include master electricians, combustible dust consultants, electrical engineers and sales associates. Lewellyn is currently hiring for those positions, and says it plans to give hiring priority to military veterans. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says the new jobs are expected to top the state’s average wage by nearly 40 percent.
The IEDC offered Lewellyn Technology more than $300,000 in conditional tax credits and training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. Zionsville has approved additional incentives.
