Elaine Bedel has been named president of the Indiana Economic Development Corp. She is founder and chief executive officer of Bedel Financial Consulting Inc. Bedel succeeds Jim Schellinger, who transitions to secretary of commerce in the new administration. She is a regular contributor to Inside INdiana Business’ Perspectives section. She previously served as director of personal finance planning at Coopers and Lybrand. Bedel is also an author and nationally-recognized speaker. She holds degrees from Hanover College and Butler University. Bedel was recognized in 2014 as an Enterprising Woman of the Year by Enterprising Women Magazine and earned a Trailblazer Award from the National Association of Women Business Owners.
