CSI provides specialized metal fabrication for the automotive industry, military, first responder container and boat applications, container-based housing, and other markets.
ekō Solutions says the deal includes a scalable manufacturing facility in Decatur, Alabama along with a highly skilled workforce. The company did not immediately specify how many jobs would be involved in the acquisition.
Land Betterment Executive Chairman Mark Jensen said the deal was partially inspired by a need to control the company’s own supply chain.
“Our ekō Solutions company is seeing unprecedented demand for disaster relief temporary homes, permanent housing villages and commercial applications,” Jensen said in written remarks. “The CSI team has been a great partner of ours, and with this acquisition we can better ensure the control of a highly skilled work force and facilities to allow us to scale to meet our immediate and future demand.”
ekō Solutions has provided dozens of homes to west Kentucky as part of its ekō Villages of Hope initiative after the area was hit by a massive tornado in 2021. The company says it aims to supply up to 200 homes for the community.
