Educators to Receive $50,000 in Grants from Mayor’s Ball

Subscribe NowLocal educators will be awarded grants totaling $50,000 through profits from the Mayor’s Charity Ball. Our partners at The Herald Bulletin report there have been 53 applications from 15 Anderson public and private schools.
Representatives from Community Hospital Anderson, St. Vincent Anderson Hospital and Ball State University will review recipients. The grants will be will be distributed to classroom teachers after the winter break.
“This is the third year that we have been able to provide grants to our teachers that benefit our children directly. The youth of our community are the future of Anderson and I am proud that we as a community have come together for this important cause.” said Anderson Mayor Thomas Broderick Jr.
Since 2017, the annual ball has raised $114,000 toward programs and materials for local teachers.
