Editor Ending 50-Year Career

A long-time editor with Columbus-based Home News Enterprises LLC. has decided to end his decades-long career in journalism. Harry McCawley, associate editor with our partners at The Republic will retire in January. The Republic says McCawley began his career with sister paper the Daily Journal. He joined the Columbus paper (which was then known as The Evening Republican) in 1966 as sports editor.

McCawley's retirement is effective January 3, 2014.
