Economic development groups to announce ‘unification’

The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership and the Posey County Economic Development Partnership will Tuesday announce what they’re calling a unification of economic and community development services. Few details are available, but the organizations say the move is a “natural next step to successful collaboration.”
The announcement is set to take place at the PCEDP headquarters in Mt. Vernon. Leaders from both organizations will be on hand, along with Posey County Commissioner Bill Collins and Mt. Vernon Mayor Bill Curtis.
The Evansville Regional Economic Partnership is a relatively new organization that was officially formed in April 2021 through the merger of the Economic Development Coalition of Southwest Indiana, Growth Alliance for Greater Evansville, and Southwest Indiana Chamber.
E-REP represents Gibson, Posey, Vanderburgh, and Warrick counties.
We’ll have more on the announcement in Tuesday afternoon’s INside Edge newsletter.
