Joel Ralston, an assistant biology professor at Saint Mary’s College, has received the Blackboard Catalyst Award for Teaching and Learning. The award honors educators that have used technology to make their classroom more adaptable and impactful for their students.

He was chosen because of his work teaching a Women in Ecology webinar. The course brings women from around the world into one online classroom.

Ralston has been a professor at Saint Mary’s for three years, teaching courses in ecology, evolution, and environmental biology. He graduated with a PhD from the University of Albany.
