The organization, which covers a 10-county region, says businesses last year committed to creating more than 2,700 jobs as a result of $527 million in total investment.
The ECIRP also touted its marketing efforts throughout the year to bring more business to the region, including taking part in site consultant meetings in various cities, such as Chicago, Atlanta, New York and Dallas.
"East Central Indiana is fortunate to have local, regional and state partners who support ECIRP’s mission to promote the 10-county region for new business investment and talent attraction," said Mindy Kenworthy, chief executive officer of the ECIRP. "Achievements include projects that will bring new jobs and investment to ECI in addition to collaborative efforts that will develop the region’s workforce and promote quality of life."
Kenworthy says the push for promoting the benefits of living and working in the region is important as the state’s workforce continues to get tighter.
The ECIRP represents Blackford, Delaware, Fayette, Grant, Henry, Jay, Madison, Randolph, Rush and Wayne counties.
