Kristen Lainsbury has been named vice president of marketing and communications at Earlham College. She previously served as senior director of marketing and creative services at Providence College in Rhode Island. Prior to that, Lainsbury served as director of marketing at Providence and also spent four years at the University of Maine as a writer and editor in the Office of University Relations. Before working in higher education, Lainsbury was a feature writer and columnist at the Bangor Daily News, also in Maine.

 
Lainsbury earned her bachelor of arts in journalism and has pursued graduate work in art history from the University of Maine. She also has participated in an executive program in innovation and strategy at MIT’s Sloan School of Management.
