An Indianapolis-based e-commerce company is planning to expand. Loxa Beauty LLC, which was recently acquired by a division of Texas-based Sally Beauty Holdings Inc. (NYSE: SBH), currently employs a dozen and is looking to add 15 by the end of 2015. Beauty Systems Group purchased the company within six months of its launch.

LoxaBeauty.com connects styling professionals with customers and products.

It was born from a website created in 2011 by Hoosier entrepreneurs Danielle McDowell and Janell Shaffer called “My Best Friend's Hair.”

Last year, Loxa Beauty landed $365,000 in seed funding from Gravity Ventures and Elevate Ventures.
