Duke Energy has promoted Melvin Morris to large-business account executive for central Indiana. Before he joined the large account management team, he served as a distribution engineer at the regional headquarters in Plainfield. Morris has served in a number of leadership roles, including his overseeing the storm damage assessment team. He has also served as an engineering liaison for the company’s seven-year grid modernization program for Indiana, helping keep projects on time and on budget.

Morris also previously served as a design engineer for an automotive company and served several years as a customer service representative within the  construction industry.

He earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University’s School of Engineering and Technology in Indianapolis. Morris is currently pursuing his MBA from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business.
