Duke Energy Names Economic Development Director

North Carolina-based Duke Energy (NYSE: DUK) has named Erin Schneider director of economic development for its Indiana service territory. Schneider most recently served as director of business development and outside sales for the Indiana Economic Development Corp.
Schneider is a native of Greenwood. Marvin Blade, Duke Energy vice president for community relations and economic development for Indiana, says Schneider is well-versed in the vital role of economic development.
"Duke Energy is well-known in Indiana for its effective economic development efforts," said Schneider. "Much of the company’s success lies in partnering with local and regional economic development groups. I believe that, working together, we can increase the quality of life for all our customers through developing local and regional economies."
Duke Energy is the state’s largest electric supplier, serving more than 800,000 customers in a 23,000 square-mile service area.
