Drum Corps Championships to Begin

Subscribe NowDrum Corps International will Thursday begin its World Championship Finals at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The event, which runs through Saturday, is expected to bring tens of thousands of people to downtown Indy, including more than 5,600 performers.
This year’s DCI Summer Tour began in June at Lucas Oil Stadium and the prelims for the world championship will begin Thursday morning. That evening, the performances of the top 15 corps will be broadcast to nearly 600 movie theaters nationwide as part of the "Big, Loud & Live" event.
The top 25 drum corps will advance to the semifinals on Friday, which will begin at 2:00 p.m. The "Top 12" chosen from Friday’s competition will compete for the world championship Saturday evening.
