Pennsylvania-based AmerisourceBergen Drug Corp. is planning to invest $55 million in a new Whitestown distribution center. The company says it expects the facility to be at full capacity by the fourth quarter of 2017 and plans to hire 120 employees.
Construction on the facility, located off of Indianapolis Road near Interstate 65, is underway. AmerisourceBergen plans to occupy more than 320,000 square feet of space when it is complete.
The Whitestown Town Council has approved a 10-year, $1.27 million personal property tax abatement to help with the installation of more than $26 million in equipment. The company says it is not seeking any other incentives.
The company is a subsidiary of AmerisourceBergen Corp., which has nearly 30 distribution centers throughout the country and nine in Canada. Another subsidiary, MWI, has a distribution center in Whitestown as well.
