Barbara Ellsworth, executive director of Dress for Success Indianapolis, is retiring June 1st. She spent nine years as the organization’s leader. After directing nonprofit organizations in Evansville for nearly 30 years, she moved to Indianapolis in September 2008. Ellsworth served as executive director of a domestic and sexual violence center in Evansville for 15 years.

She was appointed to the Governor’s task force to develop the state’s five year Domestic Violence Plan and was instrumental in the establishment of the Evansville-Vanderburgh County Commission on Domestic and Sexual Violence. Prior to that, Ellsworth helped start the Offender Aid and Restoration program in Evansville and served as its executive director for 14 years.

She attended Western Kentucky University and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Community Health.
