Our partners at WFYI report the Downtown Indy Dog Park Coalition raised $33,000 this month for the venture.
The new dog park would be located on Prospect Street near East Street in downtown Indy. Erica Ballard says she has worked on the effort for a stand-alone dog park for three years.
“We have the funding, we have the design, the contractors ready to go. All we have left is to head over to the city to get the rezoning and signed variances in place,” Ballard said.
The park will be membership-based with a yearly fee of $20. Plans call for a mid-October opening.
