A $27 million residential project in downtown Fort Wayne has received final approval from the city's redevelopment commission. Our partners at 21Alive WPTA-TV report construction on the 165-unit Cityscape Flats development is set to begin in July. The complex will be located across from Parkview Field. In addition to the apartment units, it will feature row houses and a parking garage. Approval from the commission was the last required step before construction could begin.

Cityscape Flats is a result of a deal between the city and Indianapolis-based Domo Development LLC. The company recently completed another development in Fort Wayne. Steeplechase at Parkview features more than 260 units.

City leaders say the development is needed because of the growing desire of Millennials to live downtown.
