Dow AgroSciences Inks Analytics Tech Deal

Indianapolis-based Dow AgroSciences LLC has announced an intellectual property rights agreement with an Illinois testing provider. The partnership gives EPL Bio Analytical Services access to Dow Agro’s Plextein analytics technology.

The company says Plextein was developed to help rapidly identify and quantify proteins in plant samples. Global Seeds and Traits Discovery Leader Tom Meade says "speed and accuracy are essential in today’s agricultural research. Our Plextein technology enables quantitative protein assays to be developed and validated in weeks, instead of months. Licensing our technology to EPL BAS expands the availability of this precise, efficient and cost-effective tool."

EPL BAS says the collaboration will improve its ability to provide data to the agriculture biotech industry in a timeframe previously "not achievable."
