Beth McCord has been named director of the DNR Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology. She is the DHPA’s first female director. McCord was involved in cultural and heritage management for more than 25 years, working with clients in the government, engineering, transportation and energy sectors.

She has also worked on several state and federal grant projects. McCord also has written research articles and presented that research to a variety of audiences.
