A reliable Internet connection is paramount at the office and at home, especially when they’re the same place. Whether you’re working, streaming a show in the evening, or navigating social media, most of us are online during our waking hours. With video conferencing and e-learning making up a large part of our day-to-day productivity, the ability to connect to the Internet can determine how we work, learn, and relax.

Chances are at some point you’ve experienced Internet outages and frustrating customer service from your Internet provider. These legacy networks use decades-old technology that is currently at its bandwidth limit – today’s bandwidth demands and number of users riddle the connection with slow-downs and outages.  Legacy ISPs are unable to incorporate modern automations and struggle to keep up with today’s Internet demands. Internet customers have come to expect outages, and the poor customer service that comes with them.

But it doesn’t have to be this way. Now, incumbent ISPs have some competition.

Enterprise network technologies have made their way to the residential market. Once only available for corporate environments, services like managed Wi-Fi help improve network performance, reduce costs, and streamline the entire process of setting up and connecting to high-speed Internet. Unfortunately, most residents can’t call their cable or phone company for this service, so it’s nimble, progressive fiber-optic Internet service providers that are providing these better solutions for getting online.

If you’re lucky enough that your residence is serviced by a fiber ISP, you’re likely having a much better experience thanks to a new high-speed fiber network and cloud controllers. Modern ISPs are using these enterprise technologies to enable active management of their network and customer equipment to ensure uptime and speed, without the need for on-site technicians or placing the burden of support on a customer. Automations that allow customers to sign up for service and have their Internet turned on instantly are now possible. Newer networks can minimize single points of failure in the network and often incorporate backup connectivity. These combined upgrades result in much higher up-time and a much-improved customer experience.

Connectivity needs are only going to grow. Bringing modern fiber networks to residences and commercial properties can guarantee decades of bandwidth upgrades without costly reinvestment. They pave the way for the next iterations of Wi-Fi technology and provide the reliable, high-performance connectivity we have come to rely on every day.

Whether you’re a kitchen table entrepreneur or burning the midnight oil from your home office, poor Internet connectivity shouldn’t disrupt your productivity. You have more important things on your plate than frustrating, time-consuming calls to your Internet provider. Modern fiber ISPs are providing a better choice for Internet service. It’s time to disrupt your Internet provider, not your connection.
