Another marketing technology firm is growing in Indianapolis. New York City-based Cheetah Digital plans to pump $620,000 into a new office on Monument Circle and could create up to 50 jobs by 2019. The company, which currently has seven Indiana employees, spun off from global digital information firm Experian PLC in June.
Cheetah Digital’s chief executive officer is Sameer Kazi, who previously served as general manager of an advertising unit of ExactTarget Marketing Cloud. The Indiana Economic Development Corp. says Cheetah Digital now employs a number of former ExactTarget employees. The Guaranty Building will be the location of Cheetah Digital’s new office and was once headquarters of ExactTarget.
Chief Administrations Officer Todd Richardson says "Indianapolis is home to some of the brightest minds in enterprise marketing tech today. Creating a footprint for our business here will help us attract those individuals and create a true nexus for talented digital marketers who want to shape the future of this industry." The new office is slated to open in September and is among more than 20 located throughout the world. Cheetah Digital’s portfolio includes over 3,000 clients, mostly in retail, travel, hospitality and finance.
Indiana Secretary of Commerce Jim Schellinger says the city’s reputation as a rising technology hub played a role in the company’s location decision. "As Cheetah Digital is branching off from Experian, it could have picked anywhere in the world for a new office," he said. "But with the legacy we saw spearheaded in the days of ExactTarget and kept alive by the many Hoosier tech entrepreneurs across our state, Indiana has grown into the ideal place for growing tech firms like Cheetah Digital to locate and expand."
