Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, however a spokesperson for Dexter says the acquisition is not expected to have an impact on jobs.
Rockwell American produces and distributes trailer axles, leaf springs, fenders and other trailer components throughout North America. Fred Bentley, chief executive officer of Dexter parent DexKo Global Inc., says he is excited about the deal.
"The acquisition of Rockwell complements and will be part of our Dexter business allowing DexKo to continue to accelerate our growth with great new people, products and segments," said Bentley. "We continue to add strong brands to our portfolio and offer more quality products to our customers. Combining this with Dexter’s announcement extending our already industry leading warranty, shows our commitment to real quality and engineering solutions for our customers."
Dexter says Rockwell American will operate as a division of the company. Rockwell has five manufacturing locations and 16 distribution operations throughout the country.
