Our partners at The Times of Northwest Indiana report plans for Maple Leaf Crossing also call for shipping container architecture that would house 10 to 12 businesses.
Developer Jay Lieser of 1st Metropolitan Builders told the publication the nearly $40 million development at the northwest corner of Calumet Avenue and 45th Street will also feature a walkable campus, extend the Monon Trail to connect it to the Pennsy Greenway Trail and a sculpture made with I-beams from the demolished Munster Business Complex as a nod to the region’s industrial heritage.

Lieser says he plans to have some of the new businesses open as early as 2020.
