Development Announcement Set for Indy

Subscribe NowState and local officials will Thursday provide details on a new development in a food desert in Indianapolis. Governor Eric Holcomb will be on hand for the announcement, which is set to take place on the city’s northeast side and will include remarks from Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett.
The announcement is being hosted by Bloomington-based Cook Medical, which is currently building a manufacturing facility in the same area that will employ some 100 residents. Officials say Thursday’s announcement is an additional development “attracted by the Cook investment and other positive momentum in the area.”
The news conference is scheduled for 1 p.m. and will be livestreamed on Cook Medical’s Facebook page. A 30-minute panel discussion on food insecurity and food deserts with neighborhood residents will follow the news conference.
