An Indianapolis-based developer is planning a more than $16 million apartment complex in Marion County. A unit of Herman & Kittle Properties Inc. says the project includes 29 apartment buildings. The Metropolitan Development Commission in Indianapolis is expected to discuss a preliminary tax abatement for the project this week. Herman & Kittle wants to develop more than 22 acres at the Mann Road and Mills Road intersection in Marion County.

The company also says $600,000 in improvements to that intersection will be carried out in addition to the $16.2 million cost of the apartment complex.

The MDC is planning to have preliminary discussions on a tax abatement request Wednesday.
