Indianapolis-based Ambrose Property Group has named Andrew Greenwood senior vice president of development. In his new role, Greenwood will be responsible for the planning and execution of new efforts, including the redevelopment of the former GM stamping plant near downtown Indy.

The commercial real estate agency acquired the 103-acre property, located just south of the Indianapolis Zoo, in May 2017. Ambrose plans to invest $550 million into a 15-year overhaul of the site, which will include 2.7 million square feet of redevelopment.

Ambrose says Greenwood’s previous experience in real estate and urban redevelopment positions him well to lead the project.

"Once we secured the site, we prioritized expanding our team with strategic hires who have the experience and passion to bring the project to life," said Patrick Chittenden, executive vice president of Ambrose Property Group. "Andrew brings a wealth of real estate development and legal expertise to Ambrose, and we’re fortunate to have him on board for the stamping plant project and beyond."

Greenwood says the property offers "unique development opportunities" and the project will "reawaken an area of Indy primed for transformation." 

Last month, Ambrose hired Mali Simone Jeffers to serve as director of marketing and community initiatives for the project.
