DePauw to Inaugurate New President

DePauw University will inaugurate its 20th president Saturday. The ceremony for Mark McCoy, who was named president of the university in March, will include a keynote speech by civil rights leader and DePauw graduate Vernon Jordan.
Prior to being selected to serve as president, McCoy had served as dean of the DePauw School of Music since August of 2011. He began his new role in July, succeeding Brian Casey, who left DePauw to become president of Colgate University in New York.
"As a first generation college student, I believe the undergraduate experience should be inspirational, aspirational, and transformational," said McCoy. "I can imagine no college in America that can do that better than DePauw. Our alumni set a high bar and provide shining examples of how DePauw graduates make more than a living — they make a life."
The inauguration program will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The university will live stream the event at its website.
