DePauw University has hired Bruce Clute to lead its economic development efforts. He most recently served as director of franchise sales and franchise operations with Papa Murphy’s International.
In his new role as director of collaborative community initiatives and auxiliary services, Clute will help lead economic development initiatives in and around Greencastle’s courthouse square. Part of those efforts is being funded by grants earned from Greencastle’s designation as a Stellar Community in 2011. They include streetscape improvements, moving the DePauw University bookstore to the square and the creation of new parking and housing space.
Clute previously owned and operated Brewster’s Restaurant and Maggie’s Deli & Ice Cream in Greencastle. He has also held development positions at J&P Hayman, which oversees Hardee’s and Subway franchises, and Pepsi’s La Petite Boulanngerie, which is now known as Yum Brands.
He holds degrees from Indiana University and Amberton University.
