DePauw Grad Finalist For NCAA Woman of The Year

Maggie MacPhail is on the short list for this year’s NCAA Woman of the Year Award. The winner will be announced next month at an awards ceremony at the Westin Indianapolis.
During her college tennis career at DePauw, the Tigers made it to the NCAA tournament all four years, reaching the quarterfinals in 2015.
480 athletes in all were nominated for the honor. Anna Murdock, who competed on Franklin College’s track and field team, also made the top 30 list for the award this year, but was not named a finalist. Last year, another student-athlete at an Indiana college, former soccer standout Elizabeth Tucker from the University of Notre Dame took home the top honor.
MacPhail earned this year’s top senior female student-athlete designation at DePauw, the Amy Hasbrook Award. The biochemistry major also interned in the Indiana University School of Medicine Research in the Gastroenterology Department and served as a student researcher at the Greencastle campus.
