DePauw Board Elects New Chair
DePauw University has named Marshall Reavis chair of its board of trustees. He is a DePauw graduate and is founder and chief executive officer of Illinois-based retail gift card company SVM LP. May 12, 2014

GREENCASTLE, Ind. – Marshall W. Reavis, founder and chief executive officer of SVM LP and 1984 graduate of DePauw University, was today elected to serve as chair of his alma mater's Board of Trustees. Reavis, a DePauw Trustee since 2005, succeeds Sarah Reese Wallace '76, who has chaired the board since 2010.
“I'm deeply humbled to take on this position, particularly at this moment in our history,” said Marshall Reavis. “I view this as an opportunity to serve a University that means so much to me and my family.”
“Marshall's love for DePauw is deep and his commitment to strengthening it is profound,” noted President Brian W. Casey. “He will be an excellent chair, and I look forward to what we can, together, accomplish for DePauw.”
SVM LP is a provider of gasoline, restaurant and other retail gift cards. LGL 2265aPrior to founding SVM, Marshall Reavis held numerous positions with Mobil Oil over an eleven year period.
As a student, Reavis majored in economics and was a member of one of the first cohorts of the University's Management Fellows Program. He also played football for the Tigers.
In 2012, A $5 million gift from Reavis and his wife Amy allowed for the construction of a new multi-purpose stadium that will become the home for DePauw's men's and women's varsity soccer teams and men's and women's lacrosse teams as well as the field hockey program.
