A new state representative is set to be selected Saturday in Sullivan. The Evansville Courier & Press reports Democrat precinct committee members are expected to choose Bionca Gambill to finish out the term of Kreg Battles. Battles has been a member of the House since 2005 and announced his resignation last month.

His term runs out at year's end.

During Saturday's caucus, committee members will also decide who will run for the seat in November.

Gambill is the only candidate on file, so she will likely finish out Battles' term and be the party's nomination for the next election against for Rep. Bruce Borders, who is a republican.
