JEFFERSONVILLE, Ind. – Velocity Indiana will host its Spring 2015 Accelerator Demo Day on Wednesday, June 3rd at the Frazier History Museum located at 829 West Main Street, Louisville, KY 40202. Doors will open at 3:00pm, team presentations will begin at 3:30pm followed by a reception that will last until 5:00pm. Velocity’s Demo Day is a chance for the five startup companies participating in the spring 2015 accelerator program to formally present their progress to a crowd of 250 local investors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders. This free event is open to the public and will feature an open bar and lite fare.
Velocity’s accelerator is an intense, 100-day program that encourages cohort teams to utilize Lean Startup techniques to develop assumptions and test hypotheses about their business ideas. Founding team members work with more than 50 experienced business mentors to accelerate their ability to build a sustainable business model. This cohort consisted of:
Credit Fair-e – Provides small-dollar consumer loan products designed to help borrowers repay the loan, build a strong credit profile and reduce financial stress.
MobileServe – Makes it easy for individuals and organizations to track, analyze, and communicate their service to the community.
Schedule It – The solution for routing, calling, scheduling, income reconciliation and expense tracking for Insurance Adjusters.
Smart Lanes – Provider of highly accurate, detailed demographic and behavior data based on vehicle traffic patterns.
Sweetwater Beverage – Gently caffeinated, high antioxidant, great tasting beverage from the by-product of the the organic, fair trade coffee bean.
Velocity Indiana launched in 2013, and its fourth cohort started this past March after an extensive selection process. Each participating company received $15,000 in seed funding from Velocity along with free coworking space and intense mentorship from local entrepreneurs and potential partners. In exchange for seed funding, Velocity receives a four and a half percent equity stake thereby ensuring an alignment of incentives.
