Delco Foods Expanding to Whitestown

Indianapolis-based Delco Foods is looking to grow its central Indiana operations. The specialty and Italian food distributor plans to invest more than $5 million to locate in a 150,000-square-foot facility in Whitestown, and create more than 130 jobs by 2024.
The Boone County Economic Development Corp. says the facility would be used for cheese processing and custom pizza box printing. According to documents filed with the town, the facility will include office, food storage, and distribution space.
The company, officially doing business with the county as Delco Pizza Products of Indiana Inc. and DFI Transport LLC, says it expects to begin installing equipment in the facility in May. The new jobs are expected to pay an average wage of more than $26 per hour.
The Whitestown Redevelopment Commission has approved a seven-year personal property tax abatement for Delco. The incentive would save the company an anticipated $193,000.
