Danielle Chrysler has been named director of the Indiana Office of Defense Development. She is a member of the Indiana National Guard 215th Area Support Medical Company and previously served as chief operations officer and president of the Indianapolis-based National Center for Complex Operations.

Chrysler served as chief of staff and deputy chief of staff for former Lieutenant Governor Becky Skillman, legislative director and scheduling and operations officer for former Governor Mitch Daniels and chief of staff to former First Lady Cheri Daniels. She is currently part of the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service, the Military Officers Association of America, National Guard Association of the United States and the Indiana National Guard Association. Chrysler holds degrees from Butler University and Indiana Wesleyan University.

Chrysler succeeds Duane Embree in the role. Embree was one of five agency heads asked to remain in place as part of the transition between the Mike Pence and Governor Eric Holcomb administrations. Embree and Bill Konyha, former executive director of the Office of Community and Rural Affairs, are no longer in their positions.
