Darrel Zeck, of the Ivy Tech Community College State Board of Trustees, has been appointed to the Association of Community College Trustees’ Public Policy and Advocacy Committee through December 2018. The ACCT is a nonprofit educational organization of governing boards.

Zeck joins more than 6,500 elected and appointed trustees that govern more than 1,200 community, technical and junior colleges across the United States. They serve as a voice of community college trustees to the presidential administration, Congress, Departments of Education and Labor, and more. In this role, Zeck and other committee members will review public policy issues and recommend positions to the board of directors, as well as to ACCT Executive Committee, where appropriate.

He was elected to Ivy Tech’s State Board of Trustees in 2014 and was reappointed in October by Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb. Zeck will continue to serve through June 2021. He also serves on the Regional Board of Trustees for the Terre Haute campus.

In addition, Zeck is vice president and chief administrative officer of Stark Industries in his hometown of Terre Haute. Stark Industries is a high-technology conglomerate that specializes in precision computer numerical control machining of critical components.
