Dana Light Axle Products to Close Albion Facility

Dana Light Axle Products LLC is planning to close its service parts and export packaging center in Albion. In a notice to the state, the company said all employees working at the facility will be affected by the move, though some may receive offers to work at other Dana locations.
According to the company, about 43 employees will be affected by the layoffs, which are expected to begin at the end of April. The layoffs will also impact about 30 temporary employees.
The company says the closure is an effort to maintain competitive during challenging market conditions. Employees do not have bumping rights.
Dana Light Axle Products is a subsidiary of Ohio-based Dana Inc. (NYSE: DAN), which also has locations in Yorktown, Fort Wayne, Avilla and Lafayette.
