Cummins to Host Foreign Ambassadors in Columbus, Indy

Subscribe NowMore than 30 foreign ambassadors are in Columbus and Indianapolis Monday through a U.S. State Department program described as providing an "intimate and informative look at the diverse fabric of America." The group of dignitaries, which represent countries on four continents, will tour the Cummins Inc. (NYSE: CMI) Midrange Engine Plant in Bartholomew County and attend an evening reception at the Cummins Indianapolis Distribution Headquarters through the Experience America initiative.
The State Department says Experience America offers participants a first-hand view of cities outside the Washington D.C. Beltway. Previous destinations include Seattle, San Francisco and Austin. During the Cummins plant tour, ambassadors will witness advanced manufacturing and automation technology and processes. The State Department adds it will also "spotlight how leading manufacturing capabilities and a dynamic workforce power local economic growth and contribute to the creation of vibrant communities."
Participants in the reception will include U.S. Department of State Chief of Protocol Sean Lawler, Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett and Cummins Chief Executive Officer Tom Linebarger. Officials say the evening event will focus on "how businesses and governments drive global economic and job growth."
